12th Day of Lent Matthew 13:44-46- Precious Me

The author of our devotions gave me a new insight this morning.  Typically we understand ourselves as the ones who ought be willing to give everything for the precious treasure and pearl of the kingdom of heaven.  But what if the one who finds the treasure and the priceless pearl is not us, but God?  What if, in God's eyes, we are the treasure and the pearl, and our loving and seeking God gives all to find us? What an insight into the character of God and our worth in the Father's eyes!

If you ever feel worthless, like nobody cares, of little value, wondering what's the point of what can be a difficult life, remember these little parables. God loves you and gives everything for you.    As the author so wonderfully writes, "Jesus finds us.  He seeks us out, the way one looks for a lost treasure or the perfect pearl.  He sells all for us.  As he lays down his life for us, He confirms our worth.  We are worth everything to Him!"  There's nothing more to add to that than a resounding Amen!
